What a month it has been! September was all about who we are as a brand: what we stand for, our values, culture, community and presence. Read on to find out exactly what we have been up to and some insight into the exciting day-to-day life of SmartPA HQ!
Last week we were delighted to open the doors to our brand new Edinburgh HQ. This new office space is a fantastic reflection of the journey we have been on over the last 10 years: from Sarra’s (the founder of SmartPA) kitchen table with a small team to now - providing virtual assistant services to over 5000 clients. In attendance were several of our SmartPAs alongside friends and associates of our brand. Featuring a welcome message from our founder, it was a fantastic champagne celebration of the future growth we are planning. If you’re ever in the vicinity - do pop in and say hi!
Having launched our values at the end of August, one value, in particular, seemed to be causing a lot of debate, both internally and externally. The ‘we give a sh!t’ value, created to convey the raw passion we feel about SmartPA and how much we really care for our clients, community and colleagues, seemed to really split opinions. Rather than debate internally, we decided to share our opinions with the outside world - inviting any and all opinions on a value that really reflected the strength of both sides of the argument. The feedback was fantastic, and gave a great insight into what our SmartPAs and our clients felt -- we were also delighted to invite the world into the debate. So many brands don’t often show this discussion, keeping their boardroom sessions private, but we wanted to invite the outside in. One of our buzzwords in the marketing department is ‘authenticity’ and we felt we couldn’t properly do SmartPA justice without properly demonstrating this value.
In September we also launched our new company Instagram! Again, because we really want everyone to see SmartPA for who we really are, this platform provides the perfect opportunity for you to have a good peek behind the curtain. You’ll see new staff members, charity events and, of course, our Friday fizz sessions! Be sure to follow us at @smart_pa to keep up to date with our people!
We were delighted to be featured in Scottish Business News in September, discussing our recent, rapid growth and our upcoming event. Hopefully it’s the first feature of many in the future - keep your eyes peeled for all SmartPA news!
Last, but certainly not least, was our presentation for the judge's panel at the Lloyds SME Business Of The Year award. Our founder, Sarra, traveled to London to present, Dragon’s Den-style, to their carefully selected panel of judges. It was a really exciting experience and Sarra came away feeling more excited and inspired than ever -- as a firm believer in visualisation, she wrote her acceptance speech in the taxi on the way out! Thank you to Lloyds National Bank Awards and the judges involved for the nomination.
September was a fantastic month as a brand and it gave every team member the opportunity to reflect on the changes during their time with us. We’re all very excited for the months and years to come, and hopefully you are too!
